The 9th International Conference on Economic Management and Green Development (ICEMGD 2025) was a hybrid conference which included several symposium series (offline and online) around the world. Dr. Florian Marcel Nuţă from Danubius University from Galaţi, Dr. An Nguyen from King’s College London, Dr. Ahsan Ali Ashraf from University of Lahore, Dr. Xuezheng Qin from Peking University, and Dr. Li Chai from China Agricultural University have chaired these symposium series on related topics. ICEMGD 2025 provided the participants with good opportunities to exchange ideas and build networks, and it will lead to further collaborations between both universities and other societies.


Symposium

China Agricultural University

Organizer: Dr. Li Chai, Associate Professor in China Agricultural University

The symposium Resilient Business Strategies in Global Markets , held on September 20, 2025, at China Agricultural University, Beijing, convened scholars and policymakers to address the pressing need for resilience in business strategy under global uncertainty. Organized by International College Beijing as part of the 9th International Conference on Economic Management and Green Development (ICEMGD 2025), the symposium was chaired by Dr. Li Chai, Associate Professor at China Agricultural University. The symposium brought together distinguished scholars from Peking University, China Agricultural University, Fudan University, and other leading institutions, alongside practitioners and policymakers. Together, they explored how businesses, institutions, and governments can anticipate, absorb, and adapt to disruptions in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Key themes included resilient organizational strategies, innovation in response to disruption, global trade and supply chain dynamics, institutional capacity building, and governance under uncertainty. Case studies and interdisciplinary discussions highlighted how digital transformation, supportive policy frameworks, and cross-border collaboration can strengthen resilience and long-term competitiveness. Interactive exchanges fostered collaboration between academia and practice, with participants sharing insights about embedding resilience into business models and policy frameworks. Presenters emphasized that resilience is not just a short-term adaptive tool but a strategic imperative for ensuring stability, sustainability, and growth in the face of economic, environmental, and technological challenges.

The symposium “Digital Transformation in Global Human Resource Management” hosted at King's Business School was a well-attended and engaging event, drawing around 20 participants from across the academic and practitioner community. The symposium featured five insightful presentations covering a range of timely and thought-provoking HRM topics, including global mobility, AI in recruitment, equity and inclusion practices, and emerging trends in strategic HRM. Each session prompted lively discussion and valuable knowledge exchange, contributing to a vibrant and intellectually stimulating atmosphere. Participants expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to connect with peers and engage in collaborative learning. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting the relevance of the themes to both research and practice. University of Lahore

Organizer: Dr. Ahsan Ali Ashraf, Associate Professor in University of Lahore

The symposium emphasized the transformative role of innovation in shaping management strategies and driving national development. Participants examined global shifts such as digital transformation, sustainability imperatives, and competitiveness in a rapidly changing economy. Frameworks including Design Thinking and Blue Ocean Strategy were presented to illustrate practical pathways for fostering creativity and organizational growth. Special attention was given to Pakistan’s challenges, including regulatory hurdles, funding limitations, and cultural resistance to change, while highlighting enablers such as policy reforms, education, and technology adoption. Through interactive activities inspired by real-world cases like Careem, participants engaged in problem-solving, brainstorming, and role-playing exercises.



Danubius University from Galati

Organizer: Dr. Habil. Florian Marcel Nuţă, Professor in Danubius University from Galaţi The goal of this event is to discover the reasons and debate about how income and gender inequalities, which create social and economic disparities, impact energy patterns and the households’ potential to achieve sustainability and adopt green behavior regarding energy consumption. In addition, based on recent research results and energy market facts we aim to shape and suggest potential policy recommendations and create the premises to an increased awareness regarding the transformative potential energy just transition have. Energy transition is one of the key actions for mitigating climate change. Nevertheless, due to the challenges related to renewable energy implementation costs and affordability, other social and economic features such as poverty and gender equality may affect its efficiency.



Peking University

Organizer: Dr. Xuezheng Qin, Professor in Peking University

The symposium was chaired by Dr. Hu Qihang, Boya Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Economics, Peking University, and Deputy Director of the Center for Network Economy and Informatization, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Prof. Qin Xuezheng, Director of the Market Economy Research Center at Peking University, delivered the opening address. He reviewed the history of the four editions of the Market Policy and Human Capital Workshop at Peking University and introduced the background and themes of the current international conference. Prof. Qin also summarized the major academic achievements of the Market Center over the past year, including papers published in top domestic and international journals and award-winning scholarly monographs. He concluded with a vision for the future development of the center. Subsequently, the participating scholars made academic presentations of their papers. In closing, Dr. Li Xiaolong, Associate Director of the Market Economy Research Center at Peking University, delivered the concluding remarks and presented certificates to all the speakers. He expressed his appreciation for the high-quality research presented and encouraged further collaboration and academic exchange among participants beyond the event.


Online Session

The online session of the 9th International Conference on Economic Management and Green Development (ICEMGD 2025) was held on September 26, 2025. Dr. Florian Marcel Nuţă from Danubius University from Galaţi, Dr. An Nguyen from King’s College London, Dr. Chinny Nzekwe-Excel from Birmingham City University, Dr. Manjeevan Singh Seera from Monash University Malaysia, and Dr. Ahsan Ali Ashraf from University of Lahore were invited to give keynote speeches on related topics. Also, we invited authors of qualified papers to deliver oral presentations at the Online Session in the field of financial economics, business statistics, and green development, etc. Questions from the audience were collected and answered by the presenters.

They will be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Crossref, CNKI, Portico, Google Scholar and other databases for indexing.The situation may be affected by factors among databases like processing time, workflow, policy, etc.
